Chariho Modular Classroom

Triumph was chosen by Rhode Island's Chariho School District to build a modular classroom for a high school that provides alternative learning programs for "at risk" students. The district has experienced rapid growth and the space requirements of the school needed to be addressed quickly.

The 12,000-square foot modular building is comprised of 18 separate modules including classrooms, conference rooms and "time out" rooms for more than 100 students. Each module features reinforced materials and construction methods for extra durability and security features. Classroom walls have a Chemlite coating for resistance to denting and punctures.

Triumph provided complete, turnkey construction management services. The modules were delivered to the site over 90% complete, including interior finishing and fixtures. The construction team prepared the site and installed a new septic system while the modules were being created. As soon as the 18 modules were delivered the HVAC, plumbing and electrical services and custom, ADA-compliant access ramps made of reinforced steel were installed.

Kathy Blaise, Special Education Director for the district, explained, "Modular buildings were found to be appropriate and cost effective with a minimum of hassles.... The building could be modified to give us exactly what the program needed, including classrooms, restrooms and numerous offices for the clinical staff."
