Triumph designed and installed a 4,300 square foot structure that houses
a
state-of-the-art digital mammography center for Cambridge Hospital/Cambridge
Health Alliance. The completed facility includes a reception area, waiting
rooms, three rooms with latest digital mammography equipment and technology,
12 on-call examination rooms as well as office space and a records storage
area. The modular solution had to blend in with the existing hospital
buildings and grounds, be installed in an extremely challenging location
and
be up and running on an accelerated timeline.
In keeping with the look of the existing hospital, trellis grating was installed over much of the exterior cladding so that ivy and vines will grow over the surface to create a garden-like setting. In the interior, taped and painted walls with high grade cabinets are accented with maple trim and chair rails and hospital grade VCT flooring has custom carpeting.
Triumph built the 14 modules (ranging in size from 12'-10' and 14'-36') in climate controlled conditions at the warehouse while a concrete foundation and all utility connections was prepared at the site. The mammography center was to be situated in a courtyard area enclosed by four buildings. There was a mere six inches of clearance to fit the lab into the designated space. The Triumph team lifted the prepared modules over an abutting four story building and carefully set them onto the prepared site. This modular construction approach resulted in the center opening six months earlier than originally expected. And, remarkably, there was no disruption whatsoever to the hospital's ongoing activities.
